Episode 3: Ali's Story

Ali has moved from Iraq, via Manchester, with his Mum and older brother. He isn't welcomed by everyone at the school, including the P.E. teacher Mr Crusher, who says he can't try out for the school football team without a kit. At the moment, with only his brother's wage coming in, there's no way Ali can afford one.

With few people to talk to, he keeps up email contact with his idol, David Beckham. One girl, Helena, does make an effort, and they start up a friendship. Even better, he receives a reply from David Beckham, and things start to look up.
